IRS Tax Refund Scam

Beware of this one... I almost fell for it myself!

The email I recieved looked like this:

Dear Applicant,

After the last annual calculations of your fiscal activity we have determined that you are eligible to receive a tax refund of $704.25
Please submit the tax refund request and allow us 3-6 days in order to process it.

A refund can be delayed for a variety of reasons.
For example submitting invalid records or applying after the deadline.

Please submit the form attached to your email in order to complete your tax refund

Though I wish it were true... it is not!

The attachment was a form to be filled out loaded with personal information such as credit card number, bank accout number, etc., so I was a little aprehensive. Then I visited the irs.gov website and they warn people of this email scam and phone calls as well. Thieves trying to rob you of your identity. On the bright side... if I had fell for it, I would be paying thousands of dollars trying to clear my reputation and all the charges thieves would have cost me. So I guess I am a winner afterall... especially if I can help others along the way!

Yaro Starak and Gideon Shalwick have recently informed me that their famous blogging course is now open...
